The Art of Chinese Kickboxing: Strikes, Throws, and Locks
White Dragon’s Kickboxing program is rooted in Chinese San Da, a dynamic “free fighting” system that seamlessly integrates kicks, punches, elbows, knees, throws, and submission techniques. This comprehensive approach ensures a versatile and effective fighting style. At White Dragon of East County, we focus on developing practical, real-world fighting skills that you can rely on—whether in competitive settings or self-defense situations on the street.
Safety at the Core of Your Training Journey
At White Dragon of East County, safety is always our top priority. Whether you’re training one-on-one with an experienced instructor or working with fellow students in a group class, we ensure that everyone follows the highest safety standards on the mat.
Our training methods are designed to build strength, speed, and precision in a controlled and safe environment. You’ll practice powerful kicks and hand strikes using stationary and moving contact bags, pads, and mitts. Additionally, you’ll train with specialized throwing dummies to safely master throws, takedowns, and ground striking techniques. Whether your goal is to improve fitness or prepare for professional competition, our kickboxing program offers the perfect blend of safety and effectiveness for every student.
Exploring the Art of Kickboxing, Muay Thai, and San Da
Did you know that the origins of many modern kickboxing and grappling styles trace back to ancient Chinese martial arts practiced for thousands of years? San Da—also known as Sanshou, Chinese Boxing, or Chinese Kickboxing—incorporates many of the techniques seen in today’s professional mixed martial arts. With its combination of powerful strikes, clinches, and throws, San Da is often compared to a blend of Muay Thai and Judo, making it one of the earliest forms of mixed martial arts.
